LA-CA-Huge Adoption “leftovers” from West Valley Shelter- PLEASE circulate! ASAP!!

Hi everyone, as you may know we staged a huge city shelter adoption yesterday. Although it was a tremendous success due to the hard work of all of the volunteers and shelter staff, sadly there are always a few we have to walk away from at the end of the day. As the day was wrapping up, we put together the following list of lovely animals that just need a little help from the rescue groups and the animal loving public.

Please look the list over carefully, and ask yourself- “how can I be a small link in this animals forever home?”. Then, simply act…………….forward…………post on facebook……………run over there and adopt one of these very worthy animals!

DANNON A0775919- 6 yrs old- recent owner turn in due to reported seizure activity. Although we saw no seizures yesterday, Dannon appears to be in great health. He is a love to people and other dogs, and just stared at the front doors and shook while wondering why did my family leave me here? Please consider rescuing sweet Dannon- he was a volunteer favorite yesterday! Male Neutered

MOCHA- A0777473. WHAT a LOVER!!!! Mocha is listed as 5 yrs old Spayed Female. Mocha is a clear shelter favorite, she has been at West Valley since October 2010. She is an angel with everyone! Give her a chance- PLEASE!!

POKY- A1147812 2 yrs old Male. Poky is another staff favorite at West Valley. He has been there since August 2010. AMAZING!!! This little guy has great energy, loves to play and is a sweet as they come. Look at that playful, hopeful expression on his face!

THEO- A1174763 Senior Neutered Male. WHAT? This amazing guy has been at there since December 2010? Crazy!!! Lets get this amazing guy out of there, Theo is a large boy, who just wants to cuddle and talk things over! He is very calm and cuddly- he will never disappoint!

BELLA BLUE- A1108978 1.5 years old Spayed Female. This baby only knows love for humans! She lives and breaths adoration for human companionship- also a huge shelter favorite she has been there since October 2010. Come get this great girl, and such a beauty!!

MAXWELL- A1192840 3 yrs old Neutered Male. This guy has a misleadingly grey muzzle and doesn’t seem to be getting much attention. Maxwell was one of the featured animals yesterday, and was great with all volunteers, public and staff. He showed interest in playing with all dogs he saw from his small cage. We could not believe no one adopted him yesterday- he is super sweet!

BUDDY- A0437900 10 yrs? Neutered Male. POOR Buddy…………this sweet senior has been kenneled at the shelter since December 2010. Clearly a beagle mix, this guy would be so easy to love- I can barely believe he is still there. Go GET HIM!!!

YODA- A1157434 9 Yrs old? Neutered Male. Quiet, affectionate sweet Yoda is another staff favorite at West Valley. He is skinny and needs TLC- but will perk up tremendously when the depression of shelter life has ended for him! This poster would take him in a second, but am overwhelmed with pits already!!

WINNIE- A1191720. 14 years old Spayed Female. A Maltese/ Poodle mix. Winnie needs out!!!! She is shy and very sweet, and does not show well to the public. I would bet money that the second she could unwind in a happy home she would perk right up and be a great companion to her last day!!!~

Need foster home.

This is a beautiful dog who needs a foster hone or rescue group to step up. Thanks!

I don’t usually get into this type of situation, but if anyone knows of someone who can foster or adopt this dog, please let me know. “Sweetheart” (named by the shelter) was found by another dog walker on the streets of South L.A. Sweetheart did not hesitate to jump into her car and started licking her, as if to say “thank you”. For lack of another place the dog walker took her to the WLA Shelter.

I went to evaluate Sweetheart today and I think this is a great dog and affectionate, about a year old. She does not respond to commands but would do very well with training and would make a wonderful friend and companion to someone who loves to run. She has lots of energy. She took cookies from me gently – didn’t grab or bite. It appears that she may be part Belgian Malinois, brindle and is a beautiful, sweet dog. The attendant also said that she’s a wonderful dog and so open to being hugged, which he did and I did as well.

If possible, please put feelers out for a foster or permanent home for Sweetheart.

My name is Alexis and I am an unaltered female, gray and white American Pit Bull Terrier.
The shelter thinks I am about 3 years old.
I weigh approximately 45 pounds.
I have been at the shelter since Nov 29, 2010.
Extremely sweet girl came in with an eye injury. Person that brought her in has been trying to find her a home. Medical states : POSS. PERFORATED WOUND IN THE RIGHT EYE, INFECTED, POSS. BLIND IN THIS EYE AND POSSIBLE NEEDS EXTERPATION OF EYE BALL.

Help save this little dude from heading to the shelter

The little guy is only 9-12 mos old. Tyler met him yesterday as a guy was walking by. He wants to place him in a good home but he is also desperate and Tyler is afraid he will just give him to anyone…

This boy is VERY sweet, walks great on leash, shows absolutely no aggression and is a total lover boy!!!

He has been well taken care up but due to problems this guy is having he can no longer keep him and we need a place for him to go by 4pm today, Sunday the 7th or he will go to the shelter…Boarding him will at least allow more time ….
He also needs to be neutered and chipped..

WHAT A REGAL GENTLEMAN!!!! tan and white not neutered pit bull – no id or micro- 2 years old. He is one of the most well trained dogs I have impounded so someone took the time to train him and saw the beauty in him (this is written by the control officer who found him). He knows sit-stay-lay down and even jumped into my scary truck just for a hug and a cookie. Please help with this one- I am worried about him getting adopted to the right home. A4179051 Sinatra a/k/a “Boomerang” is an outstanding, friendly one year old tan, blue eyed, neutered male Shepherd mix puppy who was brought to the Baldwin Park shelter as a stray on August 27th. He was adopted out in September and again in October, and returned each time because of his high energy level. Weighing sixty pounds this handsome high energy boy walks well on leash and gets along well with other dogs, but he needs some training. Sinatra will make a brilliant indoor family pet for an active family living in a private home!

Jack needs to get out of North Central- his siblings were adopted and he is left alone!

Jack is in the most danger and the only dog on the truck to go back to LA Animal Services. He broke our hearts as his littermates were all adopted and he cried to go back alone in his cage. He’s 5 months old and loved to sit in the volunteers lap and cuddle at the event. Jack is a puppy that like all puppies would benefit from obedience training so the Rescue Train will donate the funds for him to be obedience trained to either a new adoptive home or rescue group. Jack also comes with a $500 donation to a qualified 501c3 dog rescue.
