I don’t usually get into this type of situation, but if anyone knows of someone who can foster or adopt this dog, please let me know. “Sweetheart” (named by the shelter) was found by another dog walker on the streets of South L.A. Sweetheart did not hesitate to jump into her car and started licking her, as if to say “thank you”. For lack of another place the dog walker took her to the WLA Shelter.
I went to evaluate Sweetheart today and I think this is a great dog and affectionate, about a year old. She does not respond to commands but would do very well with training and would make a wonderful friend and companion to someone who loves to run. She has lots of energy. She took cookies from me gently – didn’t grab or bite. It appears that she may be part Belgian Malinois, brindle and is a beautiful, sweet dog. The attendant also said that she’s a wonderful dog and so open to being hugged, which he did and I did as well.
If possible, please put feelers out for a foster or permanent home for Sweetheart.
